Pañitos de agua tibia / Band-aid solutions (2022)
Pañitos de agua tibia / Band-aid solutions was a site-specific intervention aimed at highlighting the superficial nature of our approach to solving the environmental crisis. Specifically, the work focuses on the threat of rising sea levels to coastal cities.
In this intervention, a video featuring two performers drying the floor was projected onto a pile of sand at the beach. As time passed, the rising tide gradually reached, distorted, and eroded the image of the performers. This interaction between human intervention and natural conditions aims to emphasize the futility of our current efforts to address and mitigate the consequences of climate change.
Pañitos de agua tibia was presented as a public video projection on Revere Beach, Massachusetts, in May 2022. This piece was featured in the exhibition Material Agency at MassArt X SoWa.
